The Week That Wasn’t All Bad
That is quite the ringing endorsement, isn’t it? The main problem with the week is that it has done nothing but rain. It has rained for eight straight days. We are water-logged, muddy, and a bit grumpy. Scattered in the midst of the rain there have been a few moments of sunshine, literally and figuratively. I went to visit my grandmother. She lives about an hour away so I don’t manage to visit as often as I would like. She was absolutely thrilled to see me. There is nothing like a grandmother for making you feel like you are the most wonderful person in the world. We had a nice…

Spring Snow
It is spring. Spring, which brings to mind images of crocuses popping up all over the lawn, daffodils unfurling their yellow buds, and robins hopping through the yard. Instead, it is snowing. It is Monday, it is snowing, and my kids have a snow day. Despite the snow today, there have been some good things in my week. Actually, my kids definitely view the snow as good. Don’t Let Monday Get You Down
It’s Monday. It’s raining. It’s not spring here yet. But that is okay because for once in my life I am going for optimism and a positive outlook. Just don’t place any bets on how long that positive outlook will last. Here are a few happy things that have happened in my life lately. My husband and I went out for breakfast. It was midweek, we were both busy, but we met up and had a delicious breakfast and some nice conversation. If I was a fancy blogger this is where you would get an arty picture of eggs. Since I am not fancy you will just have to imagine…

Tips for a Happy Marriage
Today is our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. I thought about putting up a picture from our wedding but my husband is a private person and wouldn’t want that so you will just have to imagine it. If you picture me with a perm and wearing a gown with a big bow in the back you will be right on target. In my defense, everyone had perms in 1990 and all wedding gowns had huge bows. So, how have we stayed married for twenty-five years, you ask? (Let’s just pretend you want to know because I want to talk about it. That is how this blogging thing works.) So here are my…

Happy Things
In November my husband and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I know, that is a long time. I’ll wait while some of you figure out how old I must be. Just so you know, I was very young when I got married… Anyway, this past weekend my husband gave me my anniversary gift early. We are going to London for a week in April. Without the kids, they are going to spend the week with my parents. Before anyone starts feeling too sorry for them, they have done this before and they are convinced they are getting the better part of the deal. They are spoiled rotten by…
