A Quiet Week
For the last few Mondays I have found myself writing a post about the best little bits of my past week. I didn’t consciously decide to do this, somehow it just happened. I have decided that I really like it. I enjoy focusing on the bright spots in what can otherwise seem to be a bit of a dreary week. So for this week here are the things that made me happy. I love these mini daffodils that I bought at the grocery store for a couple of dollars. They grew like mad and flowered like crazy and they make me smile every time I look at them. Plus, they…

Bits And Pieces Of My Week
We went for a walk on Sunday afternoon. It was 56 degrees. I know I keep mentioning the temperature but that is just so unusual. Of course, last Sunday we had a wind chill of 30 below zero so I guess we should enjoy the warmth when we get it. My daughter brought her scooter and she had so much fun. Ten-year-old children are easy to please. She also likes appearing on my blog so here she is in all her glory. The rest of my family is not so crazy about appearing here which is why you rarely see pictures of them. I think my daughter just likes the…

Little Things #7
This weekend we went to Barnes and Noble. I had a couple of gift cards and an afternoon spent wandering around a book store sounded peaceful. Remind me never to go to Barnes and Noble on the weekend again. It was crazy getting there and it was crazy once we were there. So many people, and I am not a people person. Despite that, we had a nice time. The kids each found something they wanted and my husband kindly donated his gift card to me. What a nice man. I got this. I need another copy of Pride and Prejudice like I need a hole in my head but…

Little Adventures and Interesting Things
It was 65 degrees. At the end of December. On the east coast of the United States. That is just crazy. But it does mean that we were able to go for a walk and we didn’t even need jackets. Actually, the kids and I went for a walk, my husband went for a motorcycle ride since his ankles are still not fully recovered after spraining them a few weeks ago. But who would think he would be getting his motorcycle out of the garage at the end of December? He was a very happy man. I drove my kids slightly crazy by continually stopping to take pictures, though my…

Little Things #6
I am writing this sitting on the couch with the cat next to me. He is snoring like crazy and he looks a little ridiculous, kind of like he is drunk The wind is blowing outside and life is pretty peaceful. I went consignment shopping and out to dinner with two friends the other night. It was a really good day. I don’t usually go out in the evening without my family. My bizarre sense of guilt makes me think I should be home making sure everyone is fed and does their homework. However, that is about as ridiculous as the cat is. They aren’t going to die if I…
