Bookshop Visit//The Bookworm Bookstore

A few weeks ago, my husband and I were visiting a local coffeeshop and I was puttering on Google Maps to see what else was in the area. Imagine my surprise when I saw there was a bookstore a mile or so down the road. (No, I really didn’t know it was there. Yes, my husband questioned that fact.) Of course we had to visit.

The Bookworm Bookstore is located inside West Shore Farmers Market in Lemoyne, PA. That was another surprise for us. We hadn’t realized there was a farmers market. We will definitely be back to explore that and try some of the food. We had just eaten at the coffeeshop so we didn’t buy any food at the market.

I do love a bookstore full of old books. Really, all I ask for is shelves stuffed full of treasures to be discovered. This bookstore definitely delivered. Just look at all the vintage books in the photo above. I had just unpacked all my personal books after our move and was feeling a little shellshocked by how many books I actually own. I don’t even have enough shelves for all of them. I insisted to my husband that I would only buy one book. However, I then saw the section of the store in the photo below.

Do you see the label on the top shelf that says “Gothic Novels”? I am a sucker for a gothic novel, especially an old one that has the heroine fleeing from a mansion in the dead of night while wearing a long dress. Obviously, I bought two. I wanted more but convinced myself it would be a lovely treat to stop and buy one when I am out and about running errands. Here are the two I bought.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fortuitous bookshop visit and will be back even though my shelves are already groaning under the weight of my books. I mean, why stop buying books now? Books are happiness, after all.
