A Poem for a Thursday #108

rain dripping off the eaves of a house and off the trees.

It is pouring rain outside. The sky is grey and gloomy, the tree branches are bare, and the rain is coming down in sheets. That all sounds miserable but it is surprisingly cozy. I have nowhere to go and multiple cups of tea and books calling for me today. I searched for a poem about rain and this is what I found. It seems very appropriate. I have previously featured a poem by Raymond Carver here.

Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.

Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.

Would I live my life over again?
Make the same unforgiveable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes.

Rain
