This is such a cheerful poem and we all need something cheerful these days. I hope you enjoy it too. I have featured Wendy Cope’s poems before here<\/a> and here.<\/a><\/p>\n

At lunchtime I bought a huge orange–<\/i><\/p>\n

The size of it made us all laugh.<\/i><\/p>\n

I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave–<\/i><\/p>\n

They got quarters and I had a half.<\/i><\/p>\n


\n<\/i>And that orange, it made me so happy,<\/i><\/p>\n

As ordinary things often do<\/i><\/p>\n

Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.<\/i><\/p>\n

This is peace and contentment. It’s new.<\/i><\/p>\n


\n<\/i>The rest of the day was quite easy.<\/i><\/p>\n

I did all the jobs on my list<\/i><\/p>\n

And enjoyed them and had some time over.<\/i><\/p>\n

I love you. I’m glad I exist.<\/i><\/p>\n
