There are a few guaranteed ways to improve any day; drink more tea, eat some chocolate, or buy some books. Repeat as needed until happiness is achieved. I take these words to heart regularly. Last week I had a follow-up appointment with the surgeon and his office happened to be only 15 minutes away from Half Price Books. I knew what I needed to do and I did it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a lovely time browsing through the shelves. As an inveterate bargain hunter, I started in the clearance section. That is where I found the knitting magazine and the copy of Code Girls. <\/em>My fascination with life during WWII continues unabated and this is a nice addition to my library. Then I moved on to their rack of older paperbacks. I found a mystery I hadn’t read, a volume of diaries of a Victorian woman, and a copy of Mansfield Park. <\/em>Do I already own Mansfield Park?<\/em> I don’t think you even need to ask that. Of course I do. But of course I needed to buy this to add to my collection. My final purchase was No Idle Hands: The Social History of American Knitting<\/em>. I have been learning how to knit over the last year or so and have becoming ever more fascinated with the subject. I am looking forward to reading this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
