You know the days; the ones where every simple thing you try to do turns into an hour-long series of phone calls. One of those days when you consider running away from home. One of those days when going to bed early just so the day will end faster seems like a reasonable coping mechanism. One of those days when nothing particularly terrible happens but lots of annoying things happen. Since it was one of those days I am going to share the misery and complain a little.

Who ever thought health insurance was a good idea? It is expensive, annoying, and convoluted. Health insurance shouldn’t have the final say on what medication I take; the doctor should. I shouldn’t have to spend hours on the phone trying to figure out approved brands of medication and arranging for the doctor to submit paperwork to get a medication approved. That is not my job. And yet, insurance thinks it is my job. And I would appreciate it if just once I could go to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my daughter and her health insurance wouldn’t have reverted back to old information that causes them to deny the prescription. I have to call and change it every single time.

While we are talking about pharmacies I’ll just mention how much I hate the CVS automated refill line. I called to refill my daughter’s prescription, the automated line approved it and gave me a pick-up time. I tried to pick it up and CVS had no record of my attempt to refill, said there were no refills remaining, and said her insurance wouldn’t let me pick it up anyway. She had to leave on vacation this morning without her medication and I am going to have to straighten out the mess and ship it out to her once I finally get it filled.

Menopause. I hate menopause. I have figured out the cause of global warming and it is me. I am the problem.

Why does my clothes dryer take three cycles to kind of dry my towels and yet, when I put my daughter’s new dress in on low heat it suddenly dries with the heat of a thousand suns (or one menopausal woman) and shrinks the dress?

Kitchen cupboards that do not magically produce chocolate. Those are also intensely irritating. I have been reduced to eating the chocolate chips. By the handful.
