And no, we don&#8217;t have a pet snake. \u00a0I hope you are as horrified as I was.<\/p>\n<p>At first, I thought it was one of my daughter&#8217;s toys but then I realized its tail was waving around in the air. \u00a0Now, before you are too amazed by this story I have to admit that it was just a little garter snake but still, a snake is a snake and it does not belong in my house. \u00a0I have spent the last twenty-four hours thinking I see things moving out of the corner of my eye. \u00a0It is a good thing my husband was home and caught the snake. \u00a0If it was just me I might have had to resort to burning the house down as the only feasible means of ridding the house of a snake because there is no way on earth I would ever touch it.<\/p>\n<p>My kids, on the other hand, wanted to keep it.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On a more pleasant note, I stopped in at the library last week and found a whole bunch of books on their free book rack.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-NHD7r1e48pQ\/VhrqtIT0YQI\/AAAAAAAABls\/IIApYy52B0o\/s1600\/IMG_20151009_184433.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.holdsuponhappiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_20151009_184433-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"book stack\" width=\"512\" height=\"640\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The top three are familiar to me but the rest I just grabbed because they were older looking books and who knows, there might be a gem among them. \u00a0I think I will start with <i>The Lady and the Deep Blue Sea<\/i>. \u00a0Somehow the title leads me to expect something so bad it is good.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After I went to the library I went for a walk by the river that is across the road. \u00a0It is a good walk to do by myself because there is a road right by it so I feel safe and if I keep looking towards the river I can pretend I am in the country. \u00a0The country that is filled with the sound of traffic, but the country still.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-Z6eMCNj_Q_U\/Vhrr9LLo_PI\/AAAAAAAABl4\/iiR_q-M-p30\/s1600\/IMG_20151008_161209.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.holdsuponhappiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_20151008_161209-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"river and trees\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny. \u00a0I loved the way the light was dancing off the water. \u00a0Most of the leaves haven&#8217;t changed yet but there was just enough color to make it look like fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I just looked up The Lady and the Deep Blue Sea. \u00a0I think it might live up to my expectations. \u00a0It has two reviews on Goodreads, both of them five stars. \u00a0The story involves clipper ships, a race, and a red-haired captain&#8217;s wife.
