I found a book today that I am really excited about. \u00a0A library near me always has a rack of free books right by the front door. \u00a0I pop in now and then because sometimes I find some real treasures. \u00a0Today I found something that just made me happy.<\/p>\n

\"Golden<\/a><\/div>\n

First of all, I just love the cover. \u00a0Isn’t that fantastic? \u00a0I think there is a good chance that I would be perfectly happy if I could just jump inside that scene. I have a bit of a weakness for books set in New England, probably because I am a New Englander myself. \u00a0I love the descriptions of areas I know and I understand the reserved, undemonstrative people. \u00a0The illustrations are done by Lois Lenski. \u00a0I loved some of her books when I was a child. \u00a0I wonder if my daughter is too old for them now? \u00a0I’ll have to look them up. \u00a0But anyway, it is full of charming illustrations and fantastic authors. \u00a0There are stories by Sarah Orne Jewett, Louisa M. Alcott, and Dorothy Canfield, among others.<\/p>\n

See what I mean? \u00a0I just really like these. \u00a0So I have really high hopes for this book. \u00a0I also found a set of four books on the free book rack.<\/p>\n

Each volume has several novellas to fit the genre of the title. \u00a0They also have some authors I enjoy. \u00a0For example, Dorothy Sayers and Mignon Eberhart. There is also a book sale room at this library but I didn’t find anything down there. \u00a0Apparently, they are giving the good stuff away and charging for the junk.<\/p>\n

After I stopped at the library I went across the street to the walk by the river that I do sometimes. \u00a0I wanted to take a few pictures of some books. \u00a0As you do. \u00a0Notice the one at the top of this post, artistically posed on a tree. \u00a0It was a gorgeous day, fifty degrees and sunny.<\/p>\n
