His poetry was very well-known during his lifetime and for some years after but then went out of favor for several centuries. He is considered one of the great metaphysical poets. Most people are familiar with <i>No Man is an Island<\/i>\u00a0because of studying it in school. Today&#8217;s poem is a love poem.
